Social media only shows us the product, not the process, it does not show us growing fruit, it
shows shiny fruit that has already been harvested. I believe social media plays a huge role in
our mentality. If you open up your app from you bed after working a 12 hour shift, and see
someone going on trips to Dubai, riding in there AMG Mercedes it will frustrate you, no matter
your age. I believe the biggest problem lies with competition with each other. Yes competition is
good, but at what cost. When is it healthy to open an app to see what others are doing before
you know what you are doing on the day? When has it become ok, to post pictures just to get
validation from strangers, instead of sharing it with your loved ones?
Social Media is "highlight media" no one shows off their job application that got rejected. No one
goes on the internet to broadcast them failing at their latest venture. As a consumer we dont see
the struggle, we only see the glory, this creates a huge social dynamic that we have to be doing
something.
